Job Description:
Vaco is partnering with a private equity-backed organization within the manufacturing sector to identify a highly motivated and meticulous Senior Accountant to become a vital member of their tight-knit finance team. This role will encompass in-depth analysis of financial information, comprehensive cost accounting responsibilities, oversight of accounts receivable and payable functions, and the preparation of insightful financial reports that will directly contribute to the company's overarching strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and the proven ability to effectively manage diverse financial responsibilities while providing crucial support for operational decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial datasets pertaining to production expenses, material costs, and operational performance.
- Contribute to management reporting through the development of informative dashboards, detailed variance explanations, and clear presentations.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting cycles by organizing and meticulously reviewing critical cost-related information.
Costing & Supply Chain Support
- Track and analyze fluctuations in costs, maintaining robust cost models for raw materials, packaging components, and finished products.
- Participate in cost-benefit evaluations for potential new product introductions, process improvements, and negotiations with suppliers.
AP/AR Assistance
- Manage the processing and verification of vendor invoices related to materials, capital equipment, and operational overhead.
- Assist with the reconciliation of transactions and actively work to resolve any discrepancies that may arise.
- Monitor the status of vendor payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain organized financial records related to costing activities and provide support during internal and external audits.
- Ensure strict adherence to established financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across different departments to enhance financial processes and improve documentation standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a finance or accounting support capacity, with preference given to candidates with experience in the manufacturing or food processing industries.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with financial accounting software (such as SAP, QuickBooks, or various ERP systems), and competence in utilizing data analysis tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to effectively manage workload under pressure and meet deadlines, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting methodologies, and accounts payable/accounts receivable processes.
