Description:
As a Senior Graphic Designer at Giant Food, you will spearhead the visual communication strategies across various platforms, ensuring our brand identity is compelling and consistent. This role demands a creative leader who can translate marketing objectives and category insights into impactful visual designs that resonate with our customers and drive engagement. You will strategically manage the visual elements for assigned departments and categories, enhancing their appeal through innovative layouts, engaging imagery, and effective branding. Collaborating closely with marketing, merchandising, and other cross-functional teams, you will execute design initiatives, mentor junior designers, and partner with external agencies to capitalize on market trends and elevate the Giant Food brand. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a visually driven environment that supports our strategic goals.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and implement long-term visual communication strategies and brand guidelines for assigned categories and departments to achieve marketing and sales objectives.
- Ensure all visual designs align with overall brand strategy, financial targets, and the company's vision.
- Collaborate with the private brand team to provide creative direction and ensure visual consistency across private label products.
- Oversee the daily production of design assets, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Continuously evaluate the performance of visual campaigns and adjust strategies based on data and feedback.
- Partner with Marketing, Store Operations, and other departments to ensure visual elements support integrated marketing campaigns, store layouts, and overall customer experience.
- Provide creative direction and feedback on visual merchandising concepts and store layouts to enhance customer engagement.
- Offer strategic visual guidance for private brand development and marketing innovations.
- Direct the creation and execution of visual assets for promotional materials, digital platforms, and in-store signage across all divisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external design agencies, photographers, and other creative partners, ensuring alignment with brand standards and project goals.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure accountability for the quality and delivery of visual assets.
- Ensure all design work adheres to brand guidelines, legal requirements, and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with digital teams to optimize visual assets for online platforms and ensure a seamless omnichannel experience.
- Implement processes and standards to continuously improve the visual perception of our categories and brand, incorporating consumer insights on aesthetics and messaging.
- Participate in store visits and market research to understand the visual landscape and identify opportunities for impactful design solutions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior graphic designers, fostering their creative growth and ensuring high-quality visual output.
What You Will Bring:
- 8-10 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably within a retail or consumer-facing industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of management in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a track record of building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders and fostering collaborative partnerships.
