Description:
As an Assistant Store Manager at Giant Food, you will play a vital role in supporting the Store Manager to drive store success. This position assists in overseeing key areas such as merchandising, inventory management, and customer service, all aimed at achieving sales growth and profitability. You will contribute to the strategic management of store departments, ensuring optimal product presentation, efficient inventory levels, and competitive pricing strategies are implemented effectively. Collaborating with various teams across the organization will be crucial to executing company initiatives and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding store teams and ensuring that operational and strategic objectives are consistently met.
What You Will Do:
- Supporting Strategic Planning and Execution: Assist the Store Manager in developing and implementing store-level business plans and merchandising strategies to achieve profitable growth. Contribute to aligning store goals with financial targets and the overall company vision. Support the execution of daily operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Help monitor store performance and contribute to adjusting strategies as needed.
- Collaboration and Team Leadership: Work closely with Store Operations, Field Teams, and other departments to ensure alignment on initiatives, labor management, and inventory control. Provide guidance and support to store teams to enhance performance and drive results. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the store.
- Inventory and Merchandising Support: Assist in the implementation of effective merchandising plans and ensure appealing product displays throughout the store. Support the management of inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize product availability. Contribute to the creation and execution of efficient replenishment strategies.
- Customer Service Excellence: Champion a customer-centric culture within the store, ensuring exceptional service standards are met. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues effectively and efficiently. Promote customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards within the store. Work with relevant teams to optimize store operations and processes. Contribute to maintaining a positive store image and customer perception. Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify areas for improvement and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Team Support and Development: Assist in leading and supporting store teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Help train and mentor associates to enhance their skills and performance. Contribute to building a high-performing team focused on achieving store goals.
What You Will Bring:
- 3-5 years of experience in a retail environment, with some experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of staff and management in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
