Description:
Vaco is partnering with a private equity-backed organization within the manufacturing sector seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to become a valuable member of their collaborative finance team. This individual will play a key role in the analysis of financial data, encompassing cost accounting practices, managing accounts receivable and payable processes, and contributing to financial reporting to facilitate informed strategic decisions across the company. The ideal Accountant will possess robust analytical capabilities, a meticulous approach to tasks, and the capacity to handle diverse financial responsibilities while providing support for operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Gather and interpret financial data pertaining to production expenditures, material costs, and operational performance.
- Contribute to management reporting through the development of dashboards, variance explanations, and presentation materials.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting cycles by organizing and reviewing critical cost-related information.
Costing & Supply Chain Support
- Track fluctuations in costs and maintain established cost models for raw materials, packaging components, and finished products.
- Participate in cost-benefit evaluations for prospective new products, process improvements, and negotiations with suppliers.
AP/AR Assistance
- Process and verify invoices related to materials, equipment acquisitions, and overhead expenses.
- Support reconciliation efforts for transactions and aid in the resolution of any discrepancies identified.
- Monitor the status of vendor payments and ensure the timely processing of invoices.
Administrative & Compliance
- Maintain organized financial records related to costs and provide support during internal and external audit procedures.
- Ensure adherence to established financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with teams across different departments to enhance financial procedures and documentation practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance or accounting support function, ideally within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with financial software applications (such as SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems), and experience with data analysis tools.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, the ability to effectively manage tasks under pressure of deadlines, and strong communication abilities.
- Knowledge: A solid understanding of cost accounting principles, budgeting methodologies, and accounts payable/receivable functions.
